- Preheat a waffle iron. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, maple syrup, half-and-half, and butter. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture until just combined. Do not overmix; batter should be slightly lumpy. Oil waffle iron. Pour in batter and cook according to manufacturer's instructions. Top with strawberry jelly and a sprinkle of confectioners' sugar, if desired.
