Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 190°C. 2. To make the meat sauce, sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add beef mince and cook until browned. 3. Stir in San Remo tomato-based sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 4. Cover and simmer for 10-20 mins. 5. To make the cheese sauce, heat butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add flour and mix until smooth. 6. Gradually add milk and gently bring to the boil, stirring until thick and smooth. 7. Add parmesan or cheddar cheese, stir until melted. 8. To construct lasagna, in a lightly greased baking dish, layer meat sauce, cheese sauce and lasagna sheets, (making sure the lasagna sheets are totally covered). 9. Repeat layers, finishing with cheese sauce. Scatter over mozzarella cheese. 10. Cover loosely with foil, bake 20 minutes. Remove foil, bake a further 5-10 minutes until browned. 11. Serve and enjoy with family and friends!

1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
1 large green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) diced tomatoes, undrained
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) reduced-sodium beef broth
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 cup frozen corn
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2-1/2 cups uncooked spiral pasta
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook beef, green pepper and onion over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain., Stir in tomatoes, broth, tomato sauce, corn, tomato paste, Italian seasoning and pepper. Bring to a boil. Stir in pasta. Return to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 10-12 minutes or until pasta is tender. Sprinkle with cheese.

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large skillet, cook beef and sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce. In a large bowl, combine eggs, ricotta, cottage, Parmesan and Romano cheeses., Spread 1-1/2 cups sauce mixture in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Top with 4 noodles. Spread 1-1/2 cups sauce to edges of noodles. Sprinkle with 2 cups mozzarella cheese. Top with ricotta mixture, provolone cheese and remaining noodles, sauce and mozzarella cheese., Cover and bake 50 minutes or until a thermometer reads 160°. Uncover; bake 10 minutes longer or until cheese is lightly browned. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.
