Delicious Smoked Strip Steak you can try at home.

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 16 ounce New York Strip Steaks
1 tbsp Kosher Salt
1 tbsp BBQ Rub
1 tbsp Grape Seed Oil
2 tbsp Butter

Steps:

  • Add a liberal amount of salt to both sides of the steaks and let sit for 30 minutes
  • Rub both sides of your steaks with your favourite steak rub
  • Preheat your smoker to 180F
  • Place steaks in smoker and smoke until the internal temperature hits 120F
  • Remove the steaks and sear over high heat in a cast-iron skillet with oil
  • Remove from skillet with the internal temperature reaches 130F (or your preferred level of doneness)
  • Dollop butter on each steak and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

4 (1.5 inch+ thick) New York Steaks
2 tbsp olive oil
Kosher Salt
Ground Pepper
Garlic Powder
Beef Rub (optional, in place of salt, pepper & garlic powder)
Butter of the Gods (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat your smoker to 225° F (107° C).
  • Brush steaks with olive oil and season with your choice of rub.
  • Place the steaks in the smoker away from direct heat and cover. Make sure they’re spaced away from one another.
  • Use a meat thermometer to see the internal temperature and remove meat from the smoker when the desired temp is reached. See the instructions below for a temperature guide.
  • Once removed, place tinfoil over the steaks and allow them to rest for a few moments.
  • Raise the heat of your smoker to 500° F (260° C) and allow it to heat up.
  • Place your steaks back into the smoker for 30 seconds to sear each side.
  • Remove the steaks from the heat and allow them to rest for 5 minutes.
  • Pair steaks with your favorite sides and condiments and serve.
