1/2 cup all-purpose flour (unbleached)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup nutella
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted, room temperature

Steps:

  • Put rack in center of the oven. Preheat oven at 325°F Put parchment paper in the bottom of a 9 inch square pan (but taking care to let exceed a strip of parchment paper on each side (2 sides) and butter the two other sides). Sorry for this sentence, I had so much trouble translating it LOL.
  • In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, with an electric mixer, beat eggs, nutella, brown sugar and vanilla until the mixture is creamy and homogeneous, about 2 minutes. At low speed, add dry ingredients alternating with melted butter.
  • Spread in the pan. Cook 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of cake comes out with lumps and not completely clean.
  • Let cool in the pan about 2 hours. Remove from pan and cut in squares.

1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on box
2/3 cup Nutella® hazelnut spread with cocoa
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons coarse white sparkling sugar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. On work surface, unroll 1 crust; spread half of the hazelnut spread over crust. Cut crust into 16 triangles.
  • Roll up each triangle into crescent shape; place on ungreased large cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Repeat with remaining crust and hazelnut spread.
  • Brush tops with melted butter; sprinkle with coarse white sparkling sugar.
  • Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

    1. Pour the cream in a pan, place over a medium heat and let it heat up – you don’t want it boiling, just hot.
    2. As soon as tiny bubbles start to appear, add the butter and finely grate in the clementine zest, and stir to melt the butter.
    3. Snap the chocolate into small pieces and place in a heatproof bowl. Pour the creamy mixture over the chocolate, whisking as you go, so the chocolate slowly melts. If the mixture splits slightly, don’t worry, you can bring it right by adding a splash of boiling water.
    4. Add a pinch of sea salt. then stir in the brandy. Once completely smooth, pour the mixture into a nice serving dish or bowl.
    5. Place in the fridge for 2 hours to set. About 30 minutes before you’re ready to make your truffles, pull the bowl out of the fridge and let the chocolate warm up to room temperature.
    6. Put the mixed nuts into a plastic bag and use a rolling pin to bash them up quite finely. Get some little saucers or bowls and put the nuts in one and the cocoa powder in the other.
    7. Put a teacup filled with boiled water on the tray and pop a few teaspoons in there for scooping the chocolate. Get everyone around the table to spoon their own truffles out of the serving dish and roll them in cocoa powder, crushed nuts or anything else you fancy. Or, you can let them spread their truffles over a biscotti (a bit like posh Nutella!). Serve with a few glasses of chilled Vin Santo.
