This is a favorite with my father. They taste so good warm! Substitute any type of nuts you prefer.

Cook Time 15 minutes

Yield 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 4

½ cup water
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 cups whole almonds

Steps:

  • Combine the water, sugar, and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil; add the almonds. Cook and stir the mixture until the liquid evaporates and leaves a syrup-like coating on the almonds. Pour the almonds onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Separate almonds using forks. Allow to cool about 15 minutes.

Number Of Ingredients 2

1 cup Fisher® Whole Natural Almonds
10 cups Water Divided

Steps:

  • Combine 5 cups water and 1 cup almonds. Soak overnight in the refrigerator. Drain the almonds from the soaking water and rinse thoroughly under cool running water.
  • In a blender, combine almonds and 5 cups of fresh water. Blend at the highest speed for 2 minutes. Pulse the blender a few times to break up the almonds, then blend continuously for another minute.
  • Pour mixture over cheesecloth to strain.
