Baked Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches Recipe | Allrecipes image

These small, delicious sandwiches are perfect for any party. They are so good that even the pickiest of eaters will eat these.

¾ cup melted butter
1 ½ tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ tablespoons poppy seeds
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
24 mini sandwich rolls
1 pound thinly sliced cooked deli ham
1 pound thinly sliced Swiss cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix together butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and dried onion. Separate the tops from bottoms of the rolls, and place the bottom pieces into the prepared baking dish. Layer about half the ham onto the rolls. Arrange the Swiss cheese over the ham, and top with remaining ham slices in a layer. Place the tops of the rolls onto the sandwiches. Pour the mustard mixture evenly over the rolls.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the rolls are lightly browned and the cheese has melted, about 20 minutes. Slice into individual rolls through the ham and cheese layers to serve.

These Ham and Cheese Sliders were such a hit in our test kitchen they were gone in 10 minutes. They’re a crowd-pleaser for a reason: Sweet, savory, tangy, and cheesy flavors combine to make a modern dish that still feels nostalgic. Kings Hawaiian rolls now come in a 24-ct. Party Pack, so you’ll only have to grab one bag. You can use ham straight for the deli or go for a pre-sliced deli option, like Hillshire Farms. Or, you can use any deli meat or melting cheese of your choosing. For easier assembly, don’t separate the rolls before splitting them—just cut through them horizontally in one big slab. You can definitely assemble them ahead of time, and then butter and bake right before serving. Bring them to a potluck or party, or just make them for a fun spin on a weeknight dinner.

⅓ cup mayonnaise
1 ½ tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon grated garlic (from 2 medium garlic cloves)
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
½ cup (4 oz.) unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
24 Hawaiian rolls, split (such as King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls)
Cooking spray
1 pound deli honey ham slices
8 ounces deli Swiss cheese slices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Stir together mayonnaise, mustard, garlic, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Stir together butter, poppy seeds, and Worcestershire in a separate small bowl. Set aside. 
  • Place bottom halves of rolls in a single layer in a lightly greased (with cooking spray) 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Spread mayonnaise mixture evenly over top. Layer with ham and cheese; cover with top halves of rolls. Drizzle with butter mixture to evenly cover tops of rolls, and let stand 5 minutes. 
  • Cover with aluminum foil, and bake in preheated oven until cheese is melted, 15 to 17 minutes. Uncover and bake until tops of rolls are golden and crisp, 3 to 5 minutes. Cut into sandwiches, and serve warm.
