1/2 cup chopped onion
1 lb fully cooked kielbasa, cut into 1/8 in. slices (can be turkey)
2 teaspoons olive oil or 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 cup ketchup
1 (28 ounce) can pork and beans
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon steak sauce (I use A1)

Steps:

  • In a saucepan or skillet saute the onion in oil until tender.
  • Add kielbasa, cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes or until heated through.

1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 pound smoked kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 1/8-inch slices
1 can (28 ounces) pork and beans
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon steak sauce

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, saute the onion in butter and oil until tender. Add sausage; cook for 2-3 minutes, or until browned, stirring occasionally; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until heated through.

I cut it down to one pound for us, but followed the rest of the recipe to have a fair amount of beans for a side dish. She also says you can make this in a slow cooker.
