Plain Kachori Recipe - Step by Step Video image

Number Of Ingredients 5

Maida - 1 cup
Nigella Seeds/ Kalonji - 1/2 tbsp
Oil - 1 tbsp + to deep fry
Salt - to taste
Water - as per required

Steps:

  • In a bowl add flour, nigella seeds, salt and mix.
  • Add oil and mix for 2 minutes.
  • Add water little by little and knead into a smooth dough.
  • Now make small balls out of the dough.
  • Apply little oil on the rolling board and roll each balls into small flat kachori.
  • Heat enough oil in a wok. Gently slide 2 to 3 pooris in the medium hot oil and fry until it gets puffy and golden brown in color.
  • Once fried take out the fried pooris onto the kitchen paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • So the easy to make kachoris are ready to serve.
  • It goes well with aloo bhujiya or tamarind chutney.

1 Tbsp Green Gram Dal
1 Tbsp Semolina
1 Tsp Dry Mango Powder
1/2 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
1/4 Tsp Cumin Seeds
1/4 Tsp Fennel Seeds
1/8 Tsp Asafoetida
1/2 Tsp Salt
2 Tsp Oil
For Frying Oil
As Required Water
3/4 Tbsp Dates(Chopped)
1/8 Tbsp Jaggery Powder
1/4 Tsp Fennel Seeds
1/8 Tsp Dry Ginger Powder
1/8 Tsp Red Chilly Powder
1/8 Tbsp Dry Mango Powder
1/8 Tsp Black Salt
As Required Water

Steps:

  • Soak green gram dal for 2 hours and grind coarsely
  • Add chopped dates, fennel seeds, black salt, dry ginger powder, red chilli powder, jaggery powder, dry mango powder and water. Blend it well
  • In a mixing bowl, add crushed dal, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, asafotida, ginger garlic paste, salt and dry mango powder. Keep aside
  • Add wheat flour, semolina, salt, oil and little water to knead it into a dough
  • Roll the dough, fill the stuffing, fold and seal
  • Make into 4 balls
  • Heat oil for frying and deep fry the kachoris
  • Serve hot with dates chutney
