I have nowhere to proof dough as I Live in Florida and only turn the heat on every 5 years or so. I was so glad to learn this from some cooking show on PBS.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 200°F.
  • As soon as it is ready, turn it off.
  • Place the bread dough in the oven for 50-65 minutes. If you made it well, it should double.
  • Much better than I did a a teenager up north, putting it on the radiator for 2-4 hours. Obviously, we used to only bake bread in the winter.
