This foolproof filet mignon steak recipe will allow you to enjoy filet mignon at home at a fraction of a price of a steakhouse meal!

2 lbs filet mignon steak
1 tbsp oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • When the pan is hot, add the filet mignon steak.
  • Set the timer for 4 minutes. Do not touch the steak until the timer beeps!
  • Flip the filet mignon to another side.
  • Set the timer again for 4 minutes. Do not touch the steak - just let it cook undisturbed.
  • Remove the filet mignon from heat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately.

  • Season the Filet Mignons with salt and pepper. Combine the butter and oil in a large saute pan over high heat. When the pan is hot and foam has subsided, add the beef. Sear for three minutes per side for rare. Transfer to a warm platter.
