Ingredients

2 pounds hot dogs, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups ketchup
1-12 oz. can of beer

Steps:

Put all ingredients in a large saucepan and gently mix. Cover and put on low heat. Simmer slowly for about 45 minutes or until hot dog pieces are plumped up and sauce has slightly thickened. This can also be done in a slow cooker.
Serve in a chafing dish or other dish that can be kept warm, with toothpicks close by.

1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon red wine or 1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard or 1 teaspoon spicy brown mustard
1/2 teaspoon cayenne (or to taste)
1 medium garlic clove, finely minced
1 lb hot dogs, cut into 1-inch pieces or 1 lb cocktail franks

Steps:

Combine ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, mustard, and garlic in the crockery pot.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Add hot dogs; stir to coat with sauce.
Cover and cook on LOW for 1 1/2 hours, or until hot.
Serve hot, with toothpicks, from crockpot.

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut each hot dog in half lengthwise, then cut each piece in half crosswise (each hot dog will make 4 treats). Keeping the middle intact, use the tip of a knife to make 3 slices at either end of each hot dog piece (this will make 4 legs on either side). Once all the hot dogs are cut, cut the dough into strips, about 1 inch wide and 2 inches long (you may not use all of the dough). Wrap a piece of dough around the middle of each hot dog, pinching to seal the dough, and place, seam side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Press 2 sesame seeds into the middle of each “spider” to make eyes. Bake until the dough is golden brown and the hot dog “legs” are sizzling and twisted, 10 to 12 minutes.
