1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
1 ounce pepperoni, diced
1 ounce mortadella, diced
1 ounce red onion, diced
2 ounces roma tomatoes, diced
2 ounces cucumbers, diced
1 ounce gorgonzola, crumbled
1 ounce feta cheese, crumbled
1/2 ounce pepperoncini pepper, chopped
1/2 teaspoon oregano
4 ounces Italian vinaigrette dressing
3 pepperoncini peppers, whole
black olives
green olives

Steps:

Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl, except 1/2 the tomatoes, the whole pepperoncini, olives and dressing and toss.
Add the dressing and toss until fully incorporated.
Mound the salad mixture on a chilled plate, getting as much height as possible.
Place remaining tomates around the outside of the salad.
Garnish with whole pepperoncini and olives and serve!

Do all this and you should be able to enjoy a Buca-style meal in the comfort of your home! If it doesn’t turn out quite as you’d hoped, though, our doors are always open during dinnertime for dine-in and carry-out. This recipe is provided by Buca di Beppo?.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pound ground chuck
1/4 cup shredded parmigiano-reggiano cheese
1/2 cup bread crumbs (preferably italian)
2 large eggs
6 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon each of salt and pepper
8 ounce water
32 ounce authentic marinara sauce

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a mixing bowl, combine first 7 ingredients and mix thoroughly. Do not over mix – this will cause the meatballs to become tough. Divide into equal portions and shape into 6 meatballs. Place meatballs on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake until a dark brown crust forms, 13 to 15 minutes.
Transfer meatballs to a Dutch oven. Combine marinara sauce and water, and pour over the meatballs. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake until meatballs are cooked through, 35 to 45 minutes. Place the meatballs on a platter. Skim the oil from the top of the marinara and ladle it over the meatballs.

This is one of those dishes that keeps you going back to a restaurant time and time again. It used to only be on Buca Di Beppo's menu once in awhile, but I'd always ask for it, whenever I went there for dinner. I guess they got tired of me asking about it all the time, because they gave me the recipe. It's so delicious, and a lot easier to make, then you'd think. They finally put it in the menu permanently, but it's nice to be able to make it at home, so you can have it anytime you want (and at a fraction of the price,too!) It's definitely one of my favorite foods to eat -anywhere-!
