Steps:
- We'll start by washing and cutting our bok choy into quarters along the stem.
- Set the stove to high heat and bring a pot of water to a boil. We'll want to use more water so that the noodles cook faster, which leads to a more chewy, springy texture.
- For our broth, we'll add water and chicken broth to the pot, and bring it to a boil.
- We'll dump the shrimp in as we start plating the bok choy on top of the noodles.
- We have a whole recipe and video on this, but if you're starting with raw wontons, you'll boil them for about 3-5 minutes until they start floating. We have some additional pro-tips for cooking in our wonton video so be sure to check the video out if you haven't seen it already.
- Transfer the wontons onto the bowl of noodles, and carefully pour in the soup broth. Garnish with green onions.
WONTON SOUP RECIPE | CHINA SICHUAN FOOD
Steps:
- To make the filling: In a large bowl, well combine all the ingredients together. Then stir your meat filling in one direction until the filling becomes sticky.
- To assemble the wontons: Put the wonton wrapper in the center of the left hand. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of meat stuffing (or slightly more if you want)onto the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wonton wrappers with water. Fold one corner of the wrapper over the opposite corner to make a triangle just like the picture shows. Hold the wrapper with both hands, curl the corner on the right hand in firstly and then the curl the corner on the left hand to seal with another corner. You can also change the sequence. But make sure that you press them firmly.
- To prepare your serving bowls: in separate serving bowls, mix all the seasonings and set aside.
- Boil water in a wok. Put the wonton in to cook for about 5 minutes.And add your vegetable leaves prepared to cook in the last 1 minute.
- scoop around 1/2 bowl of the boiling water in serving bowl (or you can use stock), and then place wonton in too.

I took a trip to New York and tasted about a dozen of the Soup Nazi's original creations. This one, the Indian Mulligatawny, was high on my list of favorites. After each daily trip to Soup Nazi headquarters (Soup Kitchen International), I immediately headed back to the hotel and poured samples of the soups into labeled, sealed containers, which were then chilled for the trip back home. Back in the lab, portions of the soup were rinsed through a sieve so that ingredients could be identified. I recreated four of Al's best-selling soups after that trip, including this one, which will need to simmer for 3 to 4 hours, or until the soup reduces. The soup will darken as the flavors intensify, the potatoes will begin to fall apart to thicken the soup, and the nuts will soften. If you follow these directions, you should end up with a clone that would fool even Cosmo Kramer himself.
Update 2/6/18: The recipe can be improved by doubling the curry (to 2 teaspoons) and reducing the water by half (to 8 cups). Cook the soup for half the recommended time or until it's your desired thickness.

- In a Dutch oven, cook chicken in oil over medium heat until no longer pink. Remove and keep warm. In the same pan, saute the carrots, celery and onion until tender.
