Coconut Kisses Recipe: How to Make It - Taste of Home image

Yield 1 dozen.

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 large egg white
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

Steps:

  • Place egg white in a small bowl; let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Beat on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, on high until stiff peaks form. Fold in coconut., Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 325° for 18-20 minutes or until firm to the touch. Cool for 1 minute before removing to a wire rack. Store in an airtight container.

I love coconut and chocolate together. I absolutely have to make these, as soon as our Christmas fudge is gone. Another recipe from my daughter's Christmas gift, the Hershey's Cocoa recipe box. Photo is from the recipe card.

1/3 cup(s) butter, softened
3 ounce(s) package cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup(s) sugar
1 - egg yolk
2 teaspoon(s) almond extract
2 teaspoon(s) orange juice
1 1/4 cup(s) all purpose flour
2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
5 cup(s) sweetened coconut flakes, divided
48 - hershey's kisses

Steps:

  • Beat butter, cream cheese, and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed in large bowl until well blended. Add egg yolk, almond extract and orange juice; beat well.
  • Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to butter mixture. Stir in 3 cups coconut. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour until firm enough to handle.
  • Meanwhile, remove wrappers from Hershey's Kisses. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • When chilled enough to handle, shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in remaining 2 cups coconut. Place on ungreased or parchment-lined cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press Hershey's Kiss into center of each cookie. Cool 1 minute. Carefully remove to wire rack and cool completely.
