1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 package (11 ounces) peanut butter and milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup broken miniature pretzels
1 cup Rice Krispies

Steps:

  • Place first 5 ingredients in a large heavy saucepan; cook and stir over low heat until smooth and blended, about 5 minutes (mixture will be very thick). Remove from heat; stir in remaining ingredients. Spread into a greased 13x9-in. pan., Refrigerate, covered, until firm, about 4 hours. Cut into squares. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
6 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
2 cups salted dry-roasted peanuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). In large bowl, beat cake mix, butter and egg with electric mixer on low speed until crumbly. Press in ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan using plastic wrap. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Sprinkle with marshmallows. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until marshmallows puff.
  • In large microwavable bowl, microwave butterscotch and chocolate chips uncovered on Medium-High (70%) 1 minute; stir. Microwave 1 to 2 minutes longer, stirring every 30 seconds, until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in cereal and peanuts.
  • Immediately spoon cereal mixture over hot marshmallow layer. Let stand about 1 hour or until cool and set. For bars, cut into 10 rows by 6 rows. Store loosely covered.

  • Line an 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, set aside. Melt the chocolate using whichever method you prefer, you can use the double boiler method, make shift double boiler method, or the microwave method. Whichever method you use be sure to stir often. So pop the chocolate in the bowl, melt the chocolate over medium heat, and stir until absolutely smooth as silk. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and stir briefly.  Now add the marshmallows, stir just enough to mix them in so they stay in pieces. You just want to coat them with enough chocolate that each bite will be a mix of chocolate and marshmallows.  Pour into the baking pan, smooth out. If you need help with the smoothing process, here is a little tip for you. Coat the back of a tablespoon with non-stick spray. Then use the back of the tablespoon to smooth the surface. Works great for this, and also for krispie treats. It's a neat trick.  Pop the baking pan in the fridge for about an hour.  Remove the pan from the fridge, use the parchment to help lift the bars out, and then cut them into squares.  Serve with a big old marshmallow and chocolate loving smile!

  • Lightly spray a 12 x 17 inch pan with nonstick spray and set aside. Unwrap the butter and reserve the paper wrappers for pressing the final mixture into the pan. The wrappers provide a great nonstick means for pressing in that super sticky mixture. Measure out the cereal into a large bowl and set aside.In a very large pot (I use a large soup pot) over medium heat, melt butter, chocolate chips, 40 ounces (4 bags) of the marshmallows, and peanut butter. Stir almost continuously with a sturdy wooden spoon, scraping the bottom of the pot to make sure the mixture isn't scorching. The mixture will be very thick. When just about completely combined, remove pot from heat and stir vigorously to finish combining. Now you want to move quickly in these last steps because as this thick mixture cools, it gets more difficult to fold. Have your cereal and remaining marshmallows ready to go. That wooden spoon is going to give you a good workout! Quickly fold in the cereal until completely mixed throughout. Then sprinkle the remaining 10 ounces of marshmallows over the top and quickly fold them in. Aim to keep the marshmallows intact, so there are extra-marshmallow bites scattered throughout the bars. Transfer mixture to prepared pan and use the buttery side of the reserved butter wrappers to press the mixture evenly into the pan. Let cool completely and then cut into squares.
