With only 5 ingredients, you will have a delicious, protein-filled, high fiber breakfast that will satisfy all of your cravings for sweets without all the sugar and calories

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/4 cup oat flour? (ground at home or try Bob's Red Mill)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used New Zealand grass fed whey? but can use vegan)
1/4 cup chocolate chips? (try Enjoy Life)
1 banana?
1/2 cup egg whites (I used Kirkland liquid egg whites? but can use vegan egg replacer)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except chocolate chips.  
  • Add to the greased, hot waffle iron and cook a bit until set on the bottom
  • Add chocolate chips and close the iron.
  • Cook until crispy and golden. Serve with bananas, peanut butter, maple syrup or whatever toppings you choose!?

1 large egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
7 fluid ounces milk
? cup chocolate chips
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
? teaspoon salt
nonstick cooking spray

Steps:

  • Beat egg in a large bowl with a hand mixer until fluffy. Add flour, milk, chocolate chips, oil, sugar, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt; mix just until smooth.
  • Spray a Belgian waffle iron with cooking spray and preheat according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Pour about 3/4 cup batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve hot.

I used my Belgian waffle machine for these, although you can use any type of waffle iron as these are not true Belgian style waffles. These were so good and did not last long at all. This recipe makes about 6 full round waffles, which can be broken into 4 smaller waffles each (I used 2 of those smaller pieces as a serving suggestion). The Zaar computer requires that I enter a cook time, but the time will vary based on each individual machine - I guess at about 7 minutes per waffle, but please test one out on your machine first for more accurate timing.
