CHERRY MASH CANDY - JUST A PINCH RECIPES
These taste like the real thing for those of us who don't have access to St. Joseph, MO's famous yummy candies. Rich cherry nougat surrounded by chocolate and chopped peanuts.

Steps:
- Mix all ingredients with mixer til well-blended. Roll into desired size balls. I suggest small ones since this is a very rich candy and the chocolate coat will add some size, also. Chill thoroughly
- Melt chocolate chips with parafin. Stir til well-blended. Mix in peanuts.
- Dip chilled cherry balls into mixture, reheating chocolate if it begins to harden. Chill thoroughly til set. Enjoy!
CHRISTMAS GUMDROP NOUGAT CANDY - CINCYSHOPPER
Gumdrop Nougat Candy is a traditional candy that's equal parts creamy, sweet, and delish! This classic holiday recipe is great for gifting.

Number Of Ingredients 5
Steps:
- Line an 8×8" square baking dish with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Cut the gumdrops in half (top to bottom). Set aside.
- Combine chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave safe bowl.
- Heat for 30 seconds then stir. Repeat until chocolate is melted and smooth. Set aside.
- Melt butter in another microwave safe bowl.
- Add marshmallows to bowl and heat for 30 seconds and then stir. Repeat until marshmallows are melted and smooth.
- Quickly add chocolate mixture to marshmallow mixture.
- Stir until incorporated. Note if mixture starts to bind, microwave for 30 seconds and stir to loosen.
- Fold in cut gumdrops to distribute evenly.
- Lightly grease a piece of parchment paper. Use it to press the sticky nougat down into the corners.
- Allow to set up before cutting.

- Stir in the almonds, and spread the mixture over the rice paper in the prepared pan, pressing it down well. Cover with another layer of rice paper, and place a light weight evenly over the top. Leave nougat until cold, and then cut into squares, wrap in waxed paper, and store in an airtight container.

- Immediately stir in toasted almonds. Quickly turn nougat mixture into the prepared pan. While nougat is warm, score it into about 2x3/4-inch pieces. When candy is firm, use foil to lift it out of pan; cut candy into pieces. Wrap each piece in clear plastic wrap. Store tightly covered. Makes about 48 pieces.
