vegetable oil

2

garlic cloves, minced

1" ginger, peeled and cut into thin matchsticks

1 lb.

baby bok choy, cut in quarters with core intact

2 tsp.

low-sodium soy sauce 

1 tsp.

toasted sesame oil, for serving (optional)

1/2 tsp.

toasted sesame seeds, for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds. Add bok choy, soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons water. Cover and cook 1 minute, then remove lid and cook, stirring occasionally, until cores are tender and all liquid has evaporated. Transfer to a serving dish, drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if using.

1 lb baby bok choy
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp corn oil
0.5 tsp salt
0.5 tsp sugar
0.5 tsp chicken bouillon

Steps:

  • We'll need to wash the baby bok choy thoroughly:
  • Drain the bok choy in a colander, and lay them flat onto a towel. It's important that we dry them before stir-frying.
  • Heat the wok on high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic, and then the bok choy stalks a few seconds later. Then, add the rest of the bok choy.
  • Right before we finish cooking, we'll add our salt, sugar, and chicken bouillon (optional).
