3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 1/4 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. cornstarch
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Pinch nutmeg (optional)
Pinch kosher salt
6 tbsp. butter, melted
3/4 c. toasted pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° and line a 9"-x-13" pan with parchment paper. In a large bowl using a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy, 3 to 4 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, then beat in sour cream and vanilla until just combined.
  • In another large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add dry ingredients into wet ingredients and beat until just incorporated. 
  • Make streusel: In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg if using, and salt. Stir in butter and pecans if using. 
  • Add half the batter into prepared baking pan and spread in an even layer. Top with half the streusel, then add remaining batter and spread to edges of pan. Top with remaining streusel and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 50 to 55 minutes.

2-3/4 cups sugar, divided
4 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups sour cream
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and 2 cups sugar until light fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add 1 egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add alternately with sour cream, beating just enough after each addition to keep batter smooth. , Spoon a third of batter into a greased 10-in. tube pan. Combine cinnamon, nuts and remaining 3/4 cup sugar; sprinkle a third over batter in pan. Repeat layers 2 more times. Bake at 350° for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
