7 Can Chili Soup - The Slow Roasted Italian image

7 can chili soup is one of the best easy dinner ideas yet! Make this quick recipe using seven cans of food, for a delicious hearty meal.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (16 oz) can Pinto Beans
1 (15 oz) can Turkey with Beans chili
1 (15 oz) can meat only chili
1 (15.25 oz) can corn
1 (15.5 oz) can black beans (I used fiesta blend)
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 (14.5 oz) Rotel
8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
sour cream
cilantro

Steps:

  • Open cans and pour into a large pot. Do not drain cans.
  • Bring ingredients to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Add in cubed Velveeta cheese and stir until melted, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve by itself or with sour cream and cilantro.
  • This is the perfect recipe to clear out your pantry! You can add in different types of canned products and it will always taste amazing! Cans that go well together are any type of beans, chili, tomatoes, green beans, corn, etc. Even a tomato soup or cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup will work in moderation.
  • You can also add in pasta or ground beef for a heartier soup (even though this one is plenty hearty in my opinion!)
  • If you have fresh ingredients such as sour cream, parsley, or cilantro, these taste great with this soup. You can also eat this soup alongside a side of chips or even cornbread.
  • Because you are not draining and rinsing any of the contents of each can, it can increase your sodium intake. You can do a couple of things to help decrease the amount of sodium that you are eating by: 1. Buy low sodium canned products- especially in your beans and tomatoes.
  • 2. Drain and rinse the cans of beans. Pour in about 1 cup of water or low sodium chicken broth.
  • This soup can last for up to 1 week. Even though you can technically freeze this soup, the texture of the Velveeta cheese may change. If you plan on freezing this, you may want to only put Velveeta cheese in the soup that you intend to eat right away, and freeze the rest of the soup. You can always add in the Velveeta cheese later once it’s thawed and you are ready to eat it again.

1 can(s) pinto beans
1 can(s) garbanzo beans
1 can(s) dark red kidny beans
1 can(s) light red kidney beans
1 can(s) navy beans
1 can(s) black beans
1 can(s) diced tomato
3/4 cup(s) ketchup
2 package(s) goya sazon seasoning
1 tablespoon(s) liquid smoke flavoring
1 - diced bell peppar
1 - diced onion
1 teaspoon(s) minced garlic
- salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoon(s) chicken bouillon granules

Steps:

  • In a soup pot (2qt pan), sautee onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, and cook meat of choice. I use cubed pork most often, but this is great with ground beef or cubed chicken as well. If your using pork of chicken then just lightly brown them until the opaque.
  • Drain all beans and rinse. Add beans and tomatoes to 2qt pan, cover with water, add Sazon seasoning packets, ketchup, liquid smoke, and salt and pepper to your taste.
  • The longer this cooks the better it tastes!! Bring to a boil, cover and cook until you're ready to eat. Top with shredded Mexican cheese blend. That's it. :)
