YELLOW BEAN CHICKEN | BBC GOOD FOOD

A tasty classic Chinese takeaway dish, now guilt free!

Steps:

  • Heat your oil or oil sprays in a wok or frying pan on medium heat. When hot enough, add the chicken and stir fry till browned all over.
  • Add the veg and cook for about 5 mins.
  • Meanwhile, mix the yellow bean and soy sauces, and rice wine vinegar in a little jug. Then stir enough water to give a nice thin sauce, though you could use less if you like thicker, stickier sauces.
  • Pour the sauce into the wok and toss the chicken and veg around till it is well mixed in. Cook for about another 5 mins till the chicken is cooked, and the veg is tender but still with a little crunch
  • Toss in some cashew nuts if you like them, and stir then through the veg for a minute to heat through.
  • Serve with rice or egg noodles - why not try making some egg fried rice for a real Chinese feast?

Most northerners use rhubarb rice noodles to make rice cakes. Yellow rice noodles are also called cake noodles. Yellow rice noodles are not common in supermarkets. They are only available during the Chinese New Year. Every time they encounter them, they will buy a catty, except for steamed yellow noodles. Rice cakes are also used to make deep-fried cakes, but nowadays, deep-fried foods are kept away from deep-fried foods. Fried rice cakes have been changed to fried. From the Chinese New Year to the present, some people have not eaten rice cakes during the month, and the gluttons popped up again. While I was at home on the weekend morning, I used an electric baking pan to make a two-pot yellow rice noodle bean paste cake. When it was just out of the pan, the skin was slightly crispy. I took a bite of the soft and waxy inside with the sweetness of red bean paste. They were all killed.

300 grams Rhubarb Rice Noodles
200 g boiling water
Right amount Red bean paste
a little Vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Prepare rhubarb rice noodles and red bean paste filling. The rhubarb rice noodles are millet noodles. The red bean paste is the rest of the egg yolk cake. At the same time, prepare a pot of boiling water.
  • Pour boiling water into the powder, stir with chopsticks while pouring boiling water, and stir into a softer batter. Try to add water instead of pour it in at once.
  • When the temperature of the dough drops to the hand temperature, knead the dough with your hands, take a piece of dough and wrap it with a piece of bean paste filling, close the mouth and put it in a plate.
  • The electric baking pan uses the pie function to start preheating. After the preheating is in place, there will be a reminder to remind you, brush a little vegetable oil in the frying pan.
  • Flatten the dough with your hands and put it in the frying pan, and put 4 in total.
  • Close the lid and fry until halfway through the time, open the lid and turn the cake over, so that both sides of the cake are stained with vegetable oil, because the lid of the electric baking pan is not greased.
  • After cooking, take it out immediately, otherwise the residual temperature of the electric baking pan will continue to heat, and the cake will become hard and affect the taste.
