Add this cheese ball to your party’s menu - a delicious appetizer for Halloween.

1 container (8 oz) cream cheese spread
2 cups shredded Gouda or Colby cheese (8 oz)
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
1/4 cup sliced drained sun-dried tomatoes in oil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh chives
Assorted crackers, if desired

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, mix cream cheese spread and Gouda cheese until blended. Stir in chives, tomatoes and garlic powder.
  • Shape mixture into 1 large or 2 small balls or logs. Roll in chives. Wrap in plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerate at least 2 hours or until firm. Serve with crackers.

20 grape or cherry tomatoes, halved
20 fresh basil leaves
20 small balls fresh mozzarella cheese (often labeled bocconcini)
salt and pepper to taste
½ cup balsamic vinegar
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
20 toothpicks

Steps:

  • Using a toothpick, spear a half of a tomato, a leaf of basil, a mozzarella ball, and another half of a tomato. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • Place on a serving dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix the vinegar and oil together in a small bowl to serve as a dipping sauce.
