Slow Cooker Teriyaki Meatballs — Let's Dish Recipes image

Meatballs are simmered in the slow cooker in a flavorful, sweet and spicy homemade teriyaki sauce.

2 dozen precooked, frozen meatballs
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/3 cup beef broth
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Place meatballs in a lightly greased slow cooker.
  • To make teriyaki sauce: in a medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients until smooth.
  • Pour sauce over meatballs. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until sauce bubbles and thickens. To speed up thickening, you may turn the slow cooker to high for the last hour of cooking time.
  • Serve over hot cooked rice.

1/2 pound sliced baby portobello mushrooms
1 small onion, halved and sliced
1 beef top sirloin steak (1 pound), cubed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/3 cup dry red wine or beef broth
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Hot cooked mashed potatoes

Steps:

  • Place mushrooms and onion in a 3-qt. slow cooker. Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat 1 teaspoon oil over medium-high heat; brown meat in batches, adding more oil as needed. Transfer meat to slow cooker., Add wine to skillet, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Stir in broth and Worcestershire sauce; pour over meat. Cook, covered, on low 6-8 hours or until meat is tender., In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water until smooth; gradually stir into slow cooker. Cook, covered, on high until gravy is thickened, 15-30 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes.
