- Place beef stew meat, flour and salt into large resealable plastic food bag. Seal bag tightly; shake bag until meat is coated in flour; set aside.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter in 12-inch skillet over medium heat until sizzling. Add onion; cook 2-3 minutes or until onions soften.
- Add beef to skillet; discard extra flour. Cook, stirring occasionally, 5-7 minutes or until meat is browned.
- Add beef and juices from skillet to slow cooker. Cut remaining 4 tablespoons butter into small pieces; add to slow cooker. Add all remaining ingredients to slow cooker. Stir to combine.
- Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8-10 hours, or High heat setting 4-6 hours or until vegetables and meat are tender.
