ORANGE COOKIES {WITH CAKE MIX} - CAKEWHIZ
Soft and chewy, quick and easy orange cookies recipe, homemade with simple ingredients. A doctored cake mix recipe, loaded with orange zest, extract, juice.

Steps:
- In a large mixing bowl, add oil, eggs, orange zest, orange juice, orange extract, orange gel coloring and mix until fluffy.
- Add cake mix and mix until just combined.
- Chill dough for 20-30 minutes to make it easier to handle.
- Scoop out small portions of the dough and make little balls.
- Roll balls in sugar.
- Place them on a cookie tray, lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm but center is slightly soft.
- Once they cool down, frost them with orange buttercream or drizzle some orange glaze and enjoy!

In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks, orange juice, oil and orange zest; add to dry ingredients. Beat until well blended. , In another large bowl and with clean beaters, beat egg whites and cream of tartar on high speed until stiff peaks form. Fold into orange mixture. , Gently spoon batter into an ungreased 10-in. tube pan. Cut through the batter with a knife to remove air pockets. Bake on the lowest rack at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched. Immediately invert pan; cool completely. Run a knife around sides and center tube of pan. Invert cake onto a serving plate. , For glaze, melt butter in a small saucepan; add remaining glaze ingredients. Stir until smooth. Pour over top of cake, allowing it to drizzle down sides.
