This is a great brownie recipe that I've made for years. Easy to make and different from the standard brownie.

Total Time 50 minutes

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 35 minutes

Yield 16 two and a quarter inch squares

Number Of Ingredients 10

3/4 cup unsifted flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 (12 ounce) package Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and water.
  • Bring just to a boil, then remove from heat.
  • Add 6 ounces (1 cup) chocolate morsels and vanilla extract.
  • Stir until morsels melt and mixture is smooth.
  • Transfer to a large bowl.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually blend in flour mixture.
  • Stir in remaining 6 ounces (1 cup) of chocolate morsels and the nuts.
  • Spread into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Cool completely.
  • Cut into 2 1/4-inch squares.

1/2 Cup (1 stick) Butter Cut into pieces
3 Large Eggs
1 1/4 Cups Flour Sifted
1 Cup Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1/4 tsp Baking Soda

Steps:

  • "Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Melt 1 cup chocolate chips and butter in large, heavy-duty, saucepan over low heat; stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in eggs. Stir in flour, sugar, vanilla extract and baking soda. Stir in remaining 1 cup chocolate chips. Spread into prepared baking pan. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars."
