MASA HARINA DESSERT RECIPES-QUICK SWEET TAMAL - JUST ...

1 cup Masa Harina
1 tsp Baking Powder
2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
4 cups Frozen Corn
1 cup Unsalted Butter at Room temperature
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Vanilla Crème
1/2 cup Whole Milk

Steps:

  • During the first step, you need to preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. As it warms up, spray the metal pan with nonstick spray. This will help you take out the sweet Tamal easier when it is complete. Gather the dry ingredients and whisk them into a large bowl. Set aside.
  • Taking the corn kernels you have, place them into the blender or your food processor and grind until very fine. You shouldn't blend for longer than 20 seconds.
  • Take the butter and sugar into a new bowl and whisk the ingredients together until they are well blended. Make sure to not microwave the butter as it will melt the sugar and change the flavor. After the sugar and butter and smooth, add in the corn and mix well.  After about two minutes of whisking, add the dry ingredients.
  • Place the mixture into the baking pan. Then add foil on top, so the top does not cook too fast. Place it into the oven for a minimum of 20 minutes. Set a timer, so you don't forget. When it is finished, add the vanilla crème on top with sprinkled sugar and let it cool. Enjoy!

6 tbsp. Butter
1 1/2 c. Masa Harina
1/2 c. All-purpose Flour
2 tbsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Sea Salt
1 1/3 c. Whole Milk
1/4 c. Pure Maple Syrup
2 Large Eggs
Extra Butter And Maple Syrup, For Serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425ºF. Place the butter in a 9x9-inch square glass baking dish and put in the oven to melt. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn!Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.Measure out the milk and maple syrup in a 2-cup liquid measuring cup. Add eggs and whisk well with a fork. Gradually add melted butter to the milk mixture, making sure to leave 2 tablespoons in the bottom of the baking dish.Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk just until the flour is all moistened. Scrape the batter into the buttered baking dish and spread it out with a spatula. Bake in preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are beautifully golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.Serve hot with butter and maple syrup.
