I went through many of the recipes posted and didn't see one quite like this- a french type dressing rather than the usual mayo base. Should be made ahead of time- my sister in law shared this one with me and we love it. I often use tri-colured pasta to make it even prettier.Of course, you can vary the types and amounts of vegetables used.

Ingredients

2 cups macaroni
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 green onions or 1 small sweet onion, chopped
1/2 green peppers or 1/2 red pepper, chopped
1/2 cup chopped cucumber, peeled and seeded
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

Cook macaroni in boiling salted water until al denté.
Mix macaroni and vegetables.
Mix dressing and pour over salad.
Refrigerate a day ahead if possible, stir and serve.

1 package (16 ounces) elbow macaroni
1 to 1-1/2 pounds cooked small shrimp
1 package (16 ounces) frozen peas, thawed
7 to 8 celery ribs, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
DRESSING:
1-3/4 cups mayonnaise
3/4 cup French salad dressing
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
1-1/2 to 2-1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 to 2 teaspoons salt
1 to 2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 to 2 teaspoons pepper

Steps:

Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water. In a large bowl, combine the macaroni, shrimp, peas, celery and onion. , In another bowl, whisk the dressing ingredients. Pour over salad and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving.
