Use this on Tortillas and top with your favorite taco or fajita toppings. You can also spread it on a tortilla, roll it up and slice crosswise into 1/4 inch slices for a tasty and easy canape. I also stuff chicken breasts with this and dredge them in a coating, then bake. Very versatile and you can tweak it to your tastes. Add chili powder, roasted garlic, etc.

1 (8 ounce) package neufchatel cheese or 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (4 ounce) can diced mild green chilies or 1 (4 ounce) can hot green chilies, undrained
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 1/2 clove grated garlic
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt

Steps:

  • Combine the ingredients in a bowl and use as you desire.
  • This will keep in the fridge for a week or so, just stir it up before you use it again.

An easy appetizer to take to a gathering! I use a dish that has a bowl in the middle and put the tortilla rollups all around the bowl. There are never any of these green chile pepper spiced treats left!! The cream cheese may be heated in the microwave for 1-2 minutes to make it spread more easily. The rollups work best when the unsliced rolled tortillas are refrigerated several hours before slicing.

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 (4 ounce) can diced green chile peppers
1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
10 (10 inch) flour tortillas

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese and green chile peppers.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the tortillas. Roll up each tortilla individually. Slice rolled tortillas into bite sized pieces. Dip the pieces in salsa and enjoy!
