Dad's Best Burgers Recipe: How to Make It image

This favorite was created by my father-in-law years ago, then I added a few things of my own. Even my husband, who doesn't care for cream cheese, gobbles up these burgers. —Mary Rolando, Farmington, Illinois

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 large egg
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1-1/2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 pound ground beef
1 pound bulk pork sausage
8 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients. Crumble beef and sausage over mixture; mix well. Shape into 8 patties. , Grill, uncovered, over medium-hot heat for 4-6 minutes on each side or until no longer pink. Serve on buns.

Go ahead; make his day! If Dad likes traditional burgers, he'll love these well-seasoned patties hot off the grill.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 burger buns, split
8 lettuce leaves
2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Heat gas or charcoal grill. In large bowl, mix ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, onion powder and pepper until well blended. Shape mixture into 8 patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
  • Place patties on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 13 to 15 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F.
  • Layer buns with lettuce, tomato slices and burger patties. If desired, serve with ketchup, mustard, pickles and onions.
