How to Cook Thai Rice Noodles – 4 easy Steps - Food and Meal image

Thai rice noodles are wide and slippery to the tongue. The texture of Thai Rice Noodles is versatile. They can be chewy, pliable, or soft. The center should be firm but can also be softer. The noodle texture should be the same for all types of noodle.

1 box Thai rice noodles (dry)
Wok
Large pot
Large colander

Steps:

  • Put a large pot with water onto a medium-high flame and boil. Take note that the water should be enough to completely submerge the rice noodles.
  • As the water boils, drop the Thai rice noodles.
  • Cook the noodles according to the instructions which can be read at the package. However, the key here is to cook the noodles until they are just slightly hard or what we call, “al dente.”  It will be cooked further as you transfer it into the wok where you will cook the other ingredients of your dish.
  • Remove the noodles from the water, transferring them into a large colander. Now, if your recipe requires you to immediately transfer the freshly boiled noodles into the wok, then do so.  Set aside if you have different steps to follow.

  • To Prep Mix the beef together with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and sesame oil in a mixing bowl. Heat up some vegetable oil in a wok over medium high heat. Add the minced garlic and onions and stir fry until fragrant. Add the beef and chopped spring onions to the wok and cook until the beef is no longer pink in color. Add the oyster sauce and mix well. Set aside when the beef is done. To Cook Heat up some vegetable oil in the wok and add the rice noodles. Add the dark soy sauce, fish sauce and oyster sauce and mix well, making sure all the noodles are coated with sauces. Next, add the spring onions and bean sprouts and continue to stir fry until the noodles are done. Mix in the cooked beef and turned off the heat. Plate the noodles and serve.
