"A Chinese friend gave me this recipe for flavorful fish," writes Ruth Solyntjes of Waterville, Minnesota. "She didn't know U.S. measurements, so I'd hold up a plastic teaspoon and ask, 'How much?' for each ingredient she used."

Number Of Ingredients 12

4 orange roughy fillets (6 ounces each)
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 cup water
1/3 cup sliced green onions
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon minced fresh gingerroot
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Steps:

  • In a large nonstick skillet, cook fish in canola oil for 2 minutes. Turn and cook 2 minutes longer. Add the next nine ingredients. Cover and simmer for 4 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Sprinkle with sesame oil.

The scientific name of the fish is a kind of freshwater fish without intermuscular spines. It is also called black fish. It has the effects of invigorating the spleen and stomach and replenishing yin and blood. Caiyu is a holy product for making soup, and it is often used to make soup and porridge.

1 piece Fortune Fish
400 grams tofu
2 grams salt
2 grams MSG
15 grams Vegetable oil
2 grams Chives
5 grams pepper
2 pcs Dried chili

Steps:

  • Look at this is Caiyu
  • One fish, several pieces of tofu
  • Remove the fish intestines and clean the gills
  • Flatten
  • Tofu cut into thick slices
  • Spicy hot pot with chili
  • Put it in water and boil
  • Lower income fish
  • Put the ginger slices and bring to a boil
  • Put some salt, turn to medium heat and cook the fish for 20 minutes
  • Boil the soup into creamy white boiled thick silk
  • Pour in tofu
  • Cook for another two minutes
  • Add MSG, sprinkle with chives and pepper
  • Serve on the table
