4 piece Bone-In Chicken Leg
1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
2 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
to taste Salt
1 Lemon

Steps:

  • First wash the Bone-In Chicken Leg (4 piece) and grab a couple paper towels to make sure you dry off the legs. Removing excess moisture will help to render the fat in the skin and make it incredibly crispy. Make 4 long deep incisions on the chicken.
  • To a ziplock bag, place the chicken legs inside together with the Italian Seasoning (2 tablespoon), Vegetable Oil (1 tablespoon), and Salt (to taste). Massage the herbs and spices into the legs.
  • Keep ziplock bag in a fridge for at least 10 minutes.
  • Heat oven to 430 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place chicken legs on prepared pan using your lower stand. Bake for 20 minutes, turn, and bake for additional 15 minutes (no oiling is required).
  • Squeeze a Lemon (1) on it and serve along with side salad or a simple pasta and you’ll have a delicious dinner with very little effort.

Delicious! Yummy caramelized legs, kids love these! So quick and easy and no marinating required. Just prepare the sauce, pour over the chicken and pop in the oven! I actually like this with wings better ;-) VERY IMPORTANT TO LEAVE IT IN THE OVEN UNTIL IT HAS CARAMELIZED TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT. Thank you to everyone for their positive reviews! 2 1/2 lbs chicken legs
1 2/3 tablespoons olive oil (to help it stop sticking to the pan)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 2/3 tablespoons ketchup
3/4 cup honey
2 -3 garlic cloves, minced
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Mix together the oil, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Pour over the chicken.
  • Bake in preheated oven for one hour, or until sauce is caramelized.
  • Could also use wings or pork ribs.

This is one that I adapted from Recipe #199636 after I scored 4 huge chicken leg quarters on sale. ($0.39 a pound!). I added a few things and adjusted the cooking time and temp to to what worked for me. The skin got SO crispy and the chicken was moist and retained the flavors. It also fell off the bone. I hope you enjoy! UPDATE 11/13/15: THANK YOU for all of the great reviews! I am so glad it's such a hit! Make sure you check out the reviews for some other ideas on how to switch it up a little (but the original is still my personal favorite).
