Total Time 1 hours 2 minutes

Yield 50

Number Of Ingredients 10

2.5 cups flour
0.667 cup sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla sugar
1 pinch salt
1 organic lemon (juiced and zest grated)
1 cup butter (cut into pieces)
1 egg
1.667 cups powdered sugar
Food coloring (if desired)
sugar

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 190°C (170°C in a fan oven), 375°F, gas 5 and line a baking tray with grease-proof paper.
  • To make the dough, mix the flour with the sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and the grated lemon zest. Add the butter and chopped it into the mixture using a spatula.
  • Stir in the egg and knead everything quickly into a smooth dough. Let the dough cool for at least 30 minutes.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough roughly 3 mm thick and cut out different shapes (star, bell, moon). Then using a skewer, make a hanging hole at the top of each biscuit.
  • Bake the biscuits for 8-12 minutes until golden brown and allow to cool on a wire rack.
  • To make the decoration mix the icing sugar and the lemon juice until a thick glaze is formed. If desired separate the icing into separate bowls and colour with a few drops of food colouring.
  • Spread the icing over the biscuits but don't cover the hanging hole. Then sprinkle the coloured sugar over the still wet icing sugar or drip the edges of the biscuits into the sugar. Allow to dry on a wire rack

ASSORTED COOKIES/ONE RECIPE | JUST A PINCH RECIPES

Assorted Cookies/One recipe | Just A Pinch Recipes image

This is a super easy recipe. It's also very versatile. You can add any ingredient you would like into the batter or frost with your favorite frosting. I like chopped nuts in mine with a little fudge icing on top. This calls for a yellow cake mix but you can use any flavor that you like.

Provided by Linda Griffith @sothernladee

Categories     Cookies

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 box(es) yellow cake mix
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup(s) canola oil
1 teaspoon(s) flavoring (any kind that you like)
1/2 cup(s) chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or coconut

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the cake mix with the two beaten eggs and oil. Mix in nuts or any flavored chips or coconut into the batter. With a teaspoon, make balls out of the cookie dough and place on ungreased cookie sheets. With a fork, flatten the dough. Bake for 20 minutes.
  • These are great for adding peanut butter or butter scotch. The flavors are endless. For chocolate, chocolate chip cookies. Use a devils food cake and chocolate chips. Frost with chocolate icing.

ADULT PUDDING SHOTS (10 ASSORTED) | JUST A PINCH RECIPES
I did some web searching & found these variations... Jello shots have been a party favorite for years, with a shot of alcohol mixed in with jello, poured into individual sized cups & refrigerated. A new version of this are pudding alcoholic shots, where you put your shot into different flavored puddings. People who like jello shots tend to love pudding shots as well. That is why if you know anyone who loves jello shots you should teach them how to do a Pudding Shots Recipe. There are some people who love puddings shots better than jello shots & the good news about a Pudding Shots Recipe is that they are very easy to make. USE YOUR IMAGINATION...THE POSSIBLITIES ARE ENDLESS...

SAVORY MIXED-NUT SHORTBREAD RECIPE - NYT COOKING
Inspired by the cocktail nuts served at Union Square Cafe in New York City — butter-rich, toasty warm and fragrant with rosemary and cayenne — this no-mixer press-in cookie is a joy to make. You simply melt butter with rosemary and black pepper, stir that into dry ingredients, and then press the dough into a pan. Salted nuts and more fresh rosemary go on top before the whole thing is baked and broken into ragged pieces. Persnickety cookie, this is not. Enjoy on a cheese board, with cocktails or after dinner with tea and dark chocolate. Or pack these in a cellophane bag and tie it with a bow to share as a gift. (The cookies will keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.)
