A twist on garlic bread! You can use 2 small baguettes instead of the larger one. Do not use the marinated artichoke hearts.

1 lb French baguette
6 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sour cream
2 cups cubed monterey jack cheese
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons lemon pepper
1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and cut-up
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Cut the baguettes in half lengthwise.
  • Tear out the soft part of each half to form a shell, reserving the torn bread.
  • Saute the garlic and sesame seeds in butter in a skillet for 2 minutes or until tender ~ do not brown.
  • Add the torn bread to the garlic and saute until bread turns brown.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add sour cream, Monterey Jack, Parmesan, parsley, lemon pepper and artichoke hearts and mix well.
  • Arrange bread shells on a baking sheet.
  • Fill with the artichoke mixture and sprinkle each half with Cheddar.
  • Bake at 350º for 30 minutes; cool slightly.
  • Cut into slices and serve.

2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, cubed
1 can (14 ounces) water-packed artichoke hearts, drained and quartered
1 cup fresh spinach, torn
3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
2 green onions, chopped
1 loaf (16 ounces) frozen garlic bread

Steps:

  • Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl; transfer to a 1-1/2-qt. slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low, until cheese is melted, 2-3 hours. Meanwhile, prepare garlic bread according to package directions. Slice and serve with hot dip.

  • French or possibly Sour Dough Bread: remove center and tear center pcs into chunks. Saute/fry garlic with butter. Add in bread chunks and saute/fry til golden brown. Combine Lowfat sour cream with 2 Monterey Jack cheese. Mix with sauted bread chunks. Add in Parmesan, Parsley Flakes, and Lemon Pepper. Add in Artichoke Hearts (not marinated) cut up fine. Combine with bread and put mix back in bread crusts. Top with Cheddar Cheese. Bake at 350 for 30 min in an oven, or possibly, this can be made ahead of time, then place in smoker on foil to heat and heat the cheese. Approxmately 45 min.
