Spicy Ranch Chicken Wings

3 pounds chicken wings or drumettes
½ cup butter
2–3 tablespoons hot sauce
1 tablespoon Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix Shaker
½–1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
paprika

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

  • Pour the melted butter into a small bowl. Stir in 1 teaspoon Ranch seasoning mix and hot sauce, if using. Dip each wing into the butter and spread out on a sheet pan. Sprinkle with remaining Ranch seasoning mix, cayenne pepper (use less cayenne if you’ve already used hot sauce) and paprika.

  • Bake until chicken is browned and cooked through, about 30 to 40 minutes. Serve immediately with celery and Hidden Valley® Original Ranch dressing, for dipping.

1 cup Dirty Steve's Original Wing Sauce, recipe follows, or hot sauce, such as Frank's
4 heaping tablespoons fresh minced garlic
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons black pepper
4 packets powdered ranch dressing
8 cups red hot sauce, such as Frank's
2 cups melted butter
1/2 cup mango habanero sauce
8 tablespoons brown sugar
4 teaspoons chili powder
4 teaspoons garlic powder
4 teaspoons onion powder
4 teaspoons black pepper
4 teaspoons cayenne pepper
4 teaspoons seasoning salt

Steps:

  • Mix the butter, Dirty Steve's Original Wing Sauce, garlic, sugar, pepper and ranch dressing in a bowl. Stir vigorously until completely combined.
  • Mix the hot sauce, butter, mango habanero sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper and seasoning salt in a bowl. Stir vigorously until completely combined.

Fry chicken wings, a few at a time, for 8 minutes or until golden brown and crispy and juices run clear, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels., In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the dressing mix, garlic, salt and pepper; add chicken wings, a few at a time, and shake to coat. Place chicken in a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining salad dressing mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until coating is set.

Creamy Ranch Sauce with Dill and Garlic

This Ranch Sauce recipe can be easily adapted to make salad dressing. When I serve Ranch Sauce as dip or drizzle on hearty snacks such as wings, potatoes.. I like sauce consistency creamy, thick that coat the potatoes as these are dipped into the sauce. Where as for salad dressing, sauce is best little thin, creamy yet pour-able. It should not weigh-down the delicate greens but make a nice lite creamy coating.

To make ranch salad dressing increase the amount of liquid (milk, water) as suggested in notes of Recipe Card. Always remember to adjust seasonings to taste.

This Ranch Sauce has delicious garlicky ranch flavor that can't be missed. My secret to this is fresh garlic. Yes! I use fresh grated garlic instead of garlic powder. This makes a lot of difference in making Ranch Sauce tastier just as served in restaurants.
