A classic chocolate crinkle cookie! A fudgy brownie-like cookie is rolled in powdered sugar and baked to create the iconic cracked appearance.

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter
4 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
4 large Land O Lakes® Eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Melt butter and chocolate in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, 8-10 minutes or until smooth. Cool completely.
  • Combine melted chocolate mixture, 1 cup flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in remaining flour and nuts. Cover; refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.
  • Heat oven to 300°F.
  • Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake 15-18 minutes or until set.

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Melt margarine and chocolate. Cool slightly. Stir in remaining ingredients, except powdered sugar; blend well. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oven to 300°F Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes or until edges are set. Remove immediately from cookie sheet.
