Wonderful cake. Easy to make. Three layers topped with cool whip™ and pineapple. Got recipe from lady in Tennessee mountains

Yield 1 - 8 inch layer cake

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, juice reserved
4 eggs
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 (16 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

Steps:

  • Mix together cake mix, canned oranges with juice, eggs, and oil. Pour batter into three greased and floured 8 inch round pans. Layers will be thin.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes, or until cake tests done. Cool layers on wire racks.
  • Mix together whipped topping, drained pineapple, and instant pudding mix. Fill and frost the cooled cake. Refrigerate until ready to eat.

My two grown girls love this cake. My wife occasionally asks me to make it only to give it away to someone special. I enjoy making this cake and just baking everything. I included the note about cooling the cake completely because the 1st time I made this cake (I added to the recipe) because I did not wait long enough for the cake to cool and the frosting ran off the cake and around the platter. LOL

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 package(s) yellow cake mix
2 can(s) mandarin orange with juice
4 - eggs
3/4 cup(s) canola oil
TOPPING
1 large bowl cool whip
2 package(s) vanilla pudding (instant)
1 large can crushed pineapple with juice

Steps:

  • Mix ingredients. Pour into either three 8" round cake pans, 2 round pans or 1 loaf pan.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
  • While cake is baking, mix frosting and refrigerate. Mix Cool Whip, dry pudding mix, and un-drained pineapples.
  • Please remember to cool cake completely then spread frosting.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. For the cake, combine cake mix, margarine, 1/2 cup juice from the mandarin oranges, eggs, and vanilla. Beat for four minutes on medium-high. Add drained oranges and beat again until pieces are broken up and small. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Remove from oven and cool completely. If desired, turn out cake onto a large platter.Once cake is cool, blend juice from drained pineapples with the vanilla pudding mix. Add powdered sugar and mix, then mix in whipped topping. Stir in drained pineapple. Spread on cooled cake and refrigerate several hours. To serve, cut cake into squares and top each square with a mandarin orange slice.

Dot with a few herb leaves, then place a sausage at one end and roll the bacon around it until it’s totally wrapped up. Place in a roasting tray and repeat till they’re all done. ON THE DAY 1. Cook in a preheated oven at 180°C/350°F/gas 4 for 30 minutes, or until golden, gnarly and cooked through. 2. Using a fish slice, scrape the pigs in blankets from the bottom of the tray, leaving them in there, then add the Worcestershire sauce and give it a good shake, scraping all that sticky goodness from the bottom of the tray. 3. Drizzle in the honey, then place on a medium heat on the hob and bring to the boil until caramelised, shaking continuously to coat. Serve immediately.
