Yield 1 miniature pumpkin

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 small sugar pumpkin
1 teaspoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon butter
2 pinches ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Cut off the top of the pumpkin and scrape out all the seeds. Place the butter or margarine and brown sugar inside the pumpkin and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Put the pumpkin lid back on and place pumpkin in a baking pan with a little water in the bottom.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 30 minutes or until tender. These can also be baked in the microwave on high for about 10 to 15 minutes.

The cutest side bread you’ll ever serve at Thanksgiving dinner (or any fall dinner) is here, and it’s super easy. (Like, five-ingredient easy.) In a few quick steps, Pillsbury crescent dough gets transformed into adorable pumpkins. Then, we add cinnamon sugar and the cutest little almond “stems.” Don’t forget to serve with plenty of extra cinnamon-sugar butter!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/4 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet
1 tablespoon butter, melted
8 almonds or pecans

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Line cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper. In small bowl, beat Cinnamon-Sugar Butter ingredients with spoon or electric mixer until mixed well; set aside.
  • In small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon; set aside. Unroll dough sheet onto cutting board, and reshape into 12x8-inch rectangle. With pizza cutter or sharp knife, starting on short edge, cut dough into 8 (12-inch) strips.
  • Working with one strip at a time, roll slightly into 12-inch rope. Make small loop on one end, creating short tail and long tail of dough. Wrap long tail of dough around loop 2 to 3 times.
  • Wrap short tail of dough around edge of loop, and tuck through center, pinching to secure, creating pumpkin-shaped roll. Place onto cookie sheet, and gently press dough together in center to touch. Repeat for remaining dough.
  • Brush tops of dough rolls with melted butter, and sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture. Insert almond into center of each roll (into dough) to create stem. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and dough is baked through. Serve warm rolls with cinnamon-sugar butter.

Spoon by 1/2 cupfuls into 12 greased miniature fluted tube pans. Bake at 350° until set, about 20-25 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely., In a large bowl, beat the confectioners' sugar, water and maple flavoring until smooth; tint orange with red and yellow food coloring. Place wire racks with cakes over waxed paper. Spoon half of the glaze evenly over tops and sides of cakes, letting excess drip off. Let stand until glaze is set. Repeat with remaining glaze. , In a small bowl, beat confectioners' sugar and water until smooth; tint green. Cut a small hole in the corner of a pastry or plastic bag; insert a #4 round pastry tip. Fill bag with green frosting. Pipe vines on the pumpkins. For stem, insert a Tootsie Roll piece in the center of each pumpkin.
