1 cup(s) ketsup
1 cup(s) tomato sauce
3/4 cup(s) brown sugar
3/4 cup(s) red wine vinegar
1/4 cup(s) molasses
2 tablespoon(s) butter
2 teaspoon(s) liquid smoke, hickory flavor
1/4 teaspoon(s) onion powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon(s) smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon(s) celery seed
1/2 teaspoon(s) coriander
1/8 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon(s) chili powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) sea salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for a minimum of 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sauce will thicken during both cooking and cooling.
  • This recipe can be doubled or tripled. The sauce freezes well (up to 2 months), best if thawed in the refrigerator.

Adapted this one night to use a basting sauce from a large grinder of Weber Grill Creations Kick'n Chicken Seasoning mix. And it was a huge hit! Citrus and spice VERY NICE!! I will add fresh crushed garlic next time!

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 bone in chicken thighs (or any selection of chicken)
kick'n chicken mixed spice (fine grind)
1 small lemon, cut in half
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon find ground kick'n chicken seasoning

Steps:

  • season thighs liberally with fine ground seasoning mix and squeeze one lemon half over chicken.
  • heat grill to medium.
  • squeeze other half of lemon into small bowl and whisk in mustard, oil and spices. should be somewhat thick like a good salad dressing in order to stick to chicken while cooking- if to then whisk in olive oil while drizzling it into bowl until desired thickness.
  • taste marinde- should have a strong but not over powering lemon taste. add more spice if you desire.
  • grill chicken slowly until almost done and baste with all of sauce on both sides of chicken let cook until done.
  • EAT!

My pulled pork turned out ABSOLUTELY amazing because of this recipe. I'll admit I added a few dabs of bottled sauce because I wasn't confident the consistency of this sauce would be ok.   • Place the apple cider, balsamic vinegar, ketchup, honey mustard, yellow mustard, coarse mustard, honey, molasses, cane syrup, beer, coffee, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, hot sauce, black pepper, celery salt, and the habanero pepper in a large pan. Simmer the mixture over low heat until thoroughly blended, about 25 minutes. Remove from the stove, cool, pour into a covered container, and refrigerate until needed.

  • I sauteed the onions in 2 Tbsp of butter in a skillet. Then I put them to the side of the skillet and put my garlic on top of the onions ( not stirring in at this point as I didn't want it to burn). I added my cubed Chicken to the the other side of skillet and added some spoonfuls of the rotisserie chicken juice and a partial package of taco bell seasoning. Once the chicken was warm and well mixed with juice and seasoning I removed it from the skillet and added another tablespoon of butter and cooked the garlic and onions just until the garlic was fragrant. Then I added probably a little more a pint of heavy whipping cream and my bone broth and cooked it down some then added probably ½ a cup of cheese to it (if you add too much it will make it grainy). Season with garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. If too thin you can thicken with a corn starch slurry. Simmer a while longer than whisked in my sour cream. Remove from heat. Place chicken in baking dish. Cover in sauce, shredded cheese and bake at 350 till beautiful and bubbly. Top with tomatoes and green onions and bake an additional minute or so.
