Everybody knows Italian food is delicious, but heavy, creamy dishes like fettuccine alfredo can pack a ton of calories. Luckily, TV host, author and "foodologist" Hungry Girl Lisa Lillien has a diet-friendly version of this classic dish that features shirataki tofu noodles instead of traditional pasta and a lighter version of the cream sauce. Not only are these substitutes healthy, but they're tasty too!

Provided by The Dr. Oz Show

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 tofu shirataki fettuccine 1 tsp reduced fat sour cream 1 wedge spreadable light Swiss cheese 1/2 cup frozen broccoli florets
thawed 1/2 cup chopped spinach 3 oz frozen ready-to-eat medium shrimp
thawed 2 tsp reduced-fat Parmesan cheese salt (optional) black pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • Use a strainer to rinse and drain noodles. Thoroughly pat dry. Roughly cut noodles. Bring a skillet sprayed with nonstick spray to medium heat. Add noodles, sour cream, and cheese wedge, breaking the wedge into pieces. Cook and stir until cheese has melted, mixed with sour cream, and coated noodles. Stir in broccoli, shrimp, spinach and parmesan-style topping. Cook and stir until hot, 2 to 3 minutes. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 oz (about 12) raw large shrimp
peeled
tails removed
deveined 2 tsp lemon juice 6 oz (about 2 links) fully cooked chicken sausage
sliced into coins 1 cup cherry tomatoes
halved 1/2 cup sweet corn kernels 3 cups roughly chopped spinach 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray. 2. In a large bowl, combine shrimp, lemon juice, garlic powder, and pepper. Toss to coat. 3. Add sausage, tomatoes, corn, and Cajun seasoning. Mix well. 4. Place spinach on the center of the baking sheet. Evenly top with contents of the bowl. 5. Bake until shrimp are cooked through and veggies have softened and lightly browned, about 12 minutes.
