Beef Stew & Dumplings – Ninja Recipes UK image

Delicious and comforting stew and dumplings

Total Time 40 minutes

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 30 minutes

Number Of Ingredients 8

400 g Diced Beef
2 Onions
400 g Carrots
500 g Potatoes
2 tbsp Cornflour
1 tsp Mixed Herbs
1 Litre of Beef Stock
Pack of Dumpling Mix

Steps:

  • Add the onions and diced beef to pot and click Sear/Saute on high and start. Cook until beef is no longer red on the outside, do not brown. Stir occasionally
  • Add in the potatoes and carrots and stir through
  • Add in the 2 heaped spoons of cornflour, mixed herbs and a little salt and pepper. Stir through until you can no longer see dry flour
  • Pour in the stock. DO NOT STIR. Put the pressure lid on and pressure cook on high for 15 mins. When done leave for 5 minutes then vent.
  • Stir through thoroughly then add in the made up dumplings
  • Bake/Roast for 15 mins at 180°c

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1 medium onion chopped (about 1 cup)
1/4 cup flour
3 cups reduced sodium chicken broth
1 1/3 cups milk divided
3/4 tsp McCormick® Sage, Rubbed
1/2 tsp McCormick® Garlic, Minced
1/2 tsp McCormick® Rosemary Leaves
1/2 tsp McCormick® Thyme Leaves
1/2 tsp McCormick® Black Pepper, Coarse Ground
3 cups cubed cooked chicken
2 cups assorted frozen vegetables unthawed
1 cup all-purpose baking mix
3/4 tsp McCormick® Parsley Flakes

Steps:

  • Melt butter in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add onion; cook and stir 5 minutes or until softened. Sprinkle with flour. Stir with whisk until mixture is well blended. Add broth, 1 cup of the milk, sage, garlic, rosemary, thyme and pepper. Whisk until mixture is smooth.
  • Stir in chicken and vegetables. Bring to boil; reduce heat to medium.
  • Mix baking mix and parsley in medium bowl. Add remaining 1/3 cup of milk; mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto chicken mixture. Cook, uncovered, 10 minutes. Cover. Cook 10 minutes longer.
