Button mushrooms are battered and fried in oil for an irresistible snack. These are great for watching sports.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 egg
1 cup water
1 pound button mushrooms, quartered
2 cups oil for frying, or as needed

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, stir together the flour and garlic salt. Mix in egg and water until smooth.
  • Heat the oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Test to see if oil is hot by frying a drop of batter. If it sizzles and floats to the top, the oil is ready.
  • Dip mushrooms into the batter and then place in the hot oil. Fry a few at a time so they are not crowded, until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

200 grams Oyster mushrooms
200 grams Chanterelle
200 grams Portobello Mushroom
50 grams Pastry flour
2 eggs
100 grams breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons Pine nuts
2 tablespoons Parmesan
salt
freshly ground peppers
2 tablespoons butter
vegetable oil
2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Steps:

  • Rinse the mushrooms.
  • Mix the breadcrumbs, coarsely chopped pine nuts and parmesan.
  • Roll the mushrooms in flour. Beat the eggs and roll the mushrooms in the eggs. Finally, roll the mushrooms in the breadcrumb mixture. Fry in hot oil and butter until golden brown. Drain on paper towel and season with salt, pepper and parsley. Serve hot.

Remove from deep-fryer and put in separate container. Season to taste with seasoning salt. For sauce..in an empty bowl add mayonnaise, horseradish, lemon pepper, lemon juice, onion powder, garlic powder and dill weed. Mix ingredients thoroughly. Add salt and pepper to taste."
