Dad's Hamburger Gravy! | Just A Pinch Recipes image

When I was a kid growing up, we didn't have a lot of money. My dad used to make this, served often over sliced white bread or biscuits. It was a cheap and easy way to feed a family of five! Also it was delicious!

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 cup(s) whole milk
1-1 1/2 pound(s) hamburger 80/20
1/2 cup(s) all purpose flour
2-3 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper

Steps:

  • In a deep skillet, brown hamburger.
  • Draing hamburger, reserving 1/2 cup grease. Set hamburger aside.
  • Add grease back into the pan and heat over medium-high heat.
  • Whisk in flour and stir until just starting to brown.
  • Pour in milk, add salt & pepper. Stir over medium-high heat until bubbly and thickened.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, toast or biscuits!
