This simple Mexican recipe for beef Tacos from Old El Paso™ tastes fresh and delicious. Our taco kit makes 12 tacos – simply add fresh ingredients. We recommend ingredients like cheddar cheese and lean beef mince for this recipe!

1 Old El Paso™ Taco Kit
1 finely chopped small onion
500 g lean beef mince
1 grated medium carrot
400 g can tomatoes
Lettuce shredded
1 punnet cherry tomatoes
1 finely chopped cucumber
1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander
1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Heat a little oil in a pan and cook onion until soft. Add mince and cook stirring with a wooden spoon to break up mince, for 5 minutes or until browned. Add Taco Seasoning, carrot and tomatoes, simmer for 2 minutes or until sauce thickens.
  • Heat Taco shells according to pack directions.
  • Combine cherry tomatoes, cucumber and coriander in a small bowl. Fill Taco shells with cooked mince, lettuce and cherry tomato and cucumber mixture. Drizzle with Taco sauce and top with cheese.

Crunchy tortilla shells, twice cooked so you can load them up with tender seasoned beef, a mountain of grated cheese, crisp lettuce and a tangy salsa.

1 Old El Paso™ Original Stand ‘n’ Stuff Taco Kit
500 g minced beef
125 g finely grated cheese
2 juicy tomatoes
1 crispy lettuce
A splash of oil

Steps:

  • Heat a pan with a splash of oil, brown the mince and drain off the excess.
  • Sprinkle in the Old El Paso Original Spice Mix for Tacos and tip in 100 ml water.
  • Give it a good stir and when it starts to bubble, reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally until it reduces to a rich, tasty minced beef filling.
  • Fire up the oven to 180°C (160°C for fan assisted ovens), gas mark 4.
  • Lay the Crunchy Tortilla Shells open end down on a baking sheet or some foil and heat for 2-3 minutes. To microwave, give it about a minute for 6 tacos and slightly less time for fewer.
  • Load up the toasty taco shells with the hearty seasoned beef, crispy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, grated cheese and Old El Paso Taco Salsa. Now round everybody up in the kitchen or around the tv and get crunching!
