Ninja Foodi Chicken Pot Pie. Learn how to cook a delicious creamy chicken pot pie with biscuits or pie crust using the Ninja Foodi. Everything is done in the Ninja Foodi with no need for cooking biscuits in the oven. We have included both an air fryer method and pressure cooker method.

Hand Blender
Air Fryer Biscuits
3 Large Potatoes
1 Medium White Onion
3 Large Carrots
3 Sticks Celery
100 ml White Wine
1 Tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tbsp Greek Yoghurt
1 Tbsp Soft Cheese
100 g Frozen Peas
2 Frozen Chicken Breasts
500 ml Chicken Stock
2 Tbsp Tarragon
1 Tbsp Thyme
Salt & Pepper

Steps:

  • Peel and slice your carrots and onion. Wash and dice your celery. Load into the Ninja Foodi and sauté with a little extra virgin olive oil. Then peel and dice the potatoes while you are waiting for the Ninja Foodi to warm up.
  • Cancel sauté, deglaze with white wine. Add in the potatoes, seasonings and stock. Stir.
  • Place fresh or frozen chicken breasts over and season with extra salt and pepper. Place the lid on the Ninja Foodi and pressure cook for 5 minutes. While the pressure cooker is doing its magic make your homemade biscuits or use shop bought ones.
  • When it beeps, do a quick pressure release. Remove 240ml/1 cup of the liquid as this can be reserved for chicken stock for your next meal. Also, remove the chicken breasts and shred them on a chopping board. Then add in Greek yoghurt, soft cheese, extra salt and pepper and a little extra thyme or tarragon. Stir and find a little spot in your pot where there is a lot of potatoes and use a hand blender to blend a few. Aim for about 4 potatoes and a little chicken. This will then add flavour and the potatoes will make your chicken pot pie extra creamy.
  • Stir in frozen peas and chicken breast.
  • Add your biscuits or dumplings, spray with extra virgin olive oil or use egg wash and then place the air fryer lid on. Air fry for 12 minutes at 200c/400f and then serve. Or alternatively pressure cook for 0 minutes.

4 Tbsp. (½ stick) unsalted butter
1 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 lb. boneless chicken or turkey breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 Yukon Gold potatoes, diced
1 C. chicken broth
½ tsp. Sea salt
½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 (16-ounce) bag mixed frozen vegetables
½ C. heavy (whipping) cream
1 store-bought refrigerated raw piecrust, at room temperature

Steps:

  • Select Sear/Sauté and set it to Medium-High. Select Start/Stop to begin. Allow the pot to preheat for 5 minutes.
  • Put the butter, onion, and garlic in the preheated pot and sauté until the onion softened, about 3 minutes.
  • Add the chicken or turkey, potatoes, and broth to the pot. Season with the salt and black pepper. Assemble the Pressure Lid, making sure the pressure release valve is in the Seal position.
  • Select Pressure and set to High. Set the time to 10 minutes, then select Start/Stop to begin.
  • When pressure cooking is complete, quick release the pressure by moving the pressure release valve to the vent position. Carefully remove the lid when the pressure has finished releasing.
  • Select Sear/Sauté and set it to Medium-High. Select Start/Stop to begin. Add the frozen vegetables and cream to the pot. Stir until the sauce thickens and bubbles, about 3 minutes.
  • Lay the piecrust evenly on top of the filling mixture, folding over the edges if necessary. Make a small cut in the center of the crust so that steam can escape during baking.
  • Close the Crisping Lid. Select Broil and set the time to 10 minutes. Select Start/Stop to begin.
  • When cooking is complete, remove the pot from the Ninja Food, and it place on a heat-resistant surface. Let the potpie rest for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
