1 medium onion, chopped
1 small green pepper, chopped
1 small sweet yellow pepper, chopped
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1 pound ground turkey
1 can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
4-1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Optional toppings: Shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, corn chips and sliced green onions

Steps:

In a large skillet, saute onion and the green and yellow peppers in oil until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Crumble turkey into skillet. Cook over medium heat until meat is no longer pink., Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the pumpkin, tomatoes, chili powder, salt and pepper. Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours. If desired, serve with toppings.

La zucca in agrodolce è un delizioso contorno. Una ricetta dal procedimento facile e veloce per una pietanza che accompagna con gusto secondi piatti di carne arrosto e formaggi. Insieme a questi ultimi si rivela anche un delizioso antipasto.

Ingredients

800 g di zucca
olio extravergine di oliva
6 cucchiai di aceto bianco
3 cucchiai di zucchero
1 spicchio di aglio
2 rametti di menta fresca
sale

Steps:

Mondate la zucca eliminando la buccia e i semi interni. Tagliatela quindi a fette sottili. Mettete dell’olio in padella e quando sarà ben caldo aggiungete le fettine di zucca. Friggetele da entrambi i lati per 2 minuti circa. Toglietele dall’olio, salatele e tenetela da parte.
Nella stessa padella dove è stata fritta la zucca, mettete l'aceto e lo zucchero. Fate scaldare a fiamma moderata e quando lo zucchero si sarà sciolto unite l’aglio e la menta tritati. Rimettete a questo punto le fettine di zucca, mescolate con molta delicatezza in modo che le fettine restino ben coperte dalla marinata senza, però, rompersi. Lasciate insaporire per pochi minuti. Trasferite il tutto in una pirofila e fate riposare in frigorifero per almeno un'ora.
Al momento di servire togliete la zucca in agrodolce dal frigorifero, tenetela per 15-20 minuti a temperatura ambiente quindi trasferitela sul piatto da portata.
