Ingredients: 1 lb ground top round beef; 1 medium onion, chopped; 1/4 lb bacon, cooked and diced; 1 can red kidney beans, drained; 1 pinch paprika; 1/4 teaspoon oregano; 1 teaspoon msg (like Accent); 1/2 cup chopped green pepper; 1/2 teaspoon sugar; 2 teaspoons red wine; 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder; 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger; 1 bay leaf, crushed; 1 teaspoon chili powder; 1 pinch ground cumin or 1 pinch cumin seed; 1/2 cup chopped celery; 3 -5 dashes Worcestershire sauce; 1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce (I used crushed tomatoes)

This is definitely a different and tasty chili. It's a takeoff of Zippy's Chili, which is renown in Hawaii. Over there it's being re-sold at Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

Ingredients

1 lb ground top round beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 lb bacon, cooked and diced

2 teaspoons red wine

1 pinch ground cumin or 1 pinch cumin seed
1/2 cup chopped celery
3 -5 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce (I used crushed tomatoes)

Steps:

Brown beef, onion and bacon – drain.
In large pot combine beef mixture with rest of ingredients.
Simmer at least 30 minutes.
NOTE: I simmered for a couple hours…and of course it’s better the next day!

Ingredients

1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
1 pound ground beef
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
¾ cup milk
? cup ketchup
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup dried minced onion
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1 cup crushed potato chips

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bring a saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, stirring until evenly browned; drain. Stir in cooked macaroni, condensed soup, milk, and ketchup until well blended. Mix in the Cheddar cheese, green pepper, and minced onion. Season with salt, and pour into a 2 quart baking dish.
Cover, and bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven. Uncover, sprinkle the top with potato chips, and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, until chips are toasted.

I found this recipe on the KaukauTime blog. I haven't tried it yet, but wanted to save it since I miss the taste of Zippy's! Note: The secret of Zippy's Crispy Fried Chicken is the paprika and flour. The paprika and flour will make the chicken crispy without it being overly battered. Adding a bit of cornstarch will make it even more crispier if you prefer it this way. The more paprika you add will also make the chicken darker.
