For the best flavor, let the winter sangria chill overnight. If you can't find satsumas, use tangerines instead.

Yield 10 servings (serving size: about 2/3 cup)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup fresh satsuma orange juice (about 4 satsumas)
1 cup satsuma orange sections (about 2 satsumas)
? cup Triple Sec (orange-flavored liqueur)
¼ cup sugar
2 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 lemon, cut into 8 wedges
1 lime, cut into 8 wedges
1 (750-milliliter) bottle fruity red wine

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a pitcher, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

Steps:

  • Pour the wine and mandarin juice into a punch bowl
  • Add 4 tbsp of the spiced berry cordial and Grand Marnier, adjusting the quantities of each to taste
  • Add 3 of the sliced mandarins, the sliced lemon and plums. Stir and refrigerate for at least 4 hours
  • When ready to serve, halve the pomegranate and remove the seeds, keeping any juice. Add the juice and half the seeds to the sangria along with the fruit juice. Stir and adjust to taste
  • Top with the remaining pomegranate seeds and mandarin slices and serve
