Steps:
- In large saucepan, bring chicken broth to boiling. Add wild rice; cover and simmer 40 minutes. Add white rice; cover and simmer an additional 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Drain off any remaining liquid.
- Meanwhile, in large skillet, cook sausage, celery and onion until sausage is no longer pink, stirring frequently. Drain. Combine sausage mixture and rice mixture.
- Use to stuff turkey, or place in greased 2-quart casserole or glass baking dish and cover with foil; bake at 350°F. for 25 to 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 300°F. Spread bread cubes in single layer in large roasting pan or baking pan. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly toasted; set aside.
- Place 3 cups broth, the wild rice and mushrooms in 4- or 5-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on high heat setting 3 hours.
- Add remaining ingredients except 3/4 cup broth to wild rice mixture. Add bread cubes. Pour 3/4 cup broth over bread mixture; toss gently. Cover and cook on low heat setting 4 hours to 4 hours 30 minutes. Note: This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer’s directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.

A picture of this dish should be in the dictionary under "savory". Made this a few times, years ago, to rave reviews and have been looking for the recipe ever since. Found it. I recommend baking it separately in a casserole and don't wait for a holiday. This is good anytime. If you prefer, leave out the bacon and sausage, it's still great. Cooking wild rice is not included in prep or cook times.
